Kuvings B6000 Vertical Masticating Juicer

The Kuvings B6000 is one of the newest additions to the juicer market that includes some great enhancements and new design technology to making juicing easier and more efficient. This model is an upright masticating juicer, but it is like no other juicer in its class. What sets this apart and is most noticeable is its new extra wide feed chute, the first upright masticating juicer to make use of one. This enables whole fruits and vegetables to be dropped into the machine without having to be sliced up into smaller pieces, which in turn will drastically cut down on prep time.
Kuvings did not stop at just the feed chute. This model also includes a powerful motor that operates at slower speeds to deliver an efficient and quieter juicing experience. Add that to the use of sturdy and eco-friendly materials, easy clean up, a “smart cap” and patented juicing technology and Kuvings has really elevated juicing to a whole other level.
With being a new model, there are not going to be as many customer reviews as juicers that have been on the market for years, but so far the feedback from owners has been glowing. We have decided to include this on our site because the B6000 seems to address most of the shortcomings of other vertical style masticating juicers.

Product Features

b6000Larger Feed Chute: This is the one aspect that gets the most attention. The ability to drop in whole produce without having to cut into smaller chunks is a huge advantage to any juicer. No one likes prepping to juice, and this all but eliminates this aspect. The 3 inch chute should be able to accommodate a wide array of different fruits and vegetables without having to pull out the cutting board. Kuvings is touting this model as the only vertical style masticating juicer to have this feature, which makes this model stand out.
Patented Juicing Technology: Kuvings designed the B6000 with something called Juicer Module Comprising System (JMCS). It is a slower speed masticating method that they have patented in 50 countries. Typical masticating juicers operate at around 80RPM while this juicer uses a motor built by Kuvings that operates at just 60RPM. It was designed to be as efficient as possible to ensure maximum juice extraction. Also, a pleasant byproduct of operating at slower RPM’s is that the juicer produces less noise.
Smart Cap: Simple but innovative. A cap on the end of the spout where juice exits the machine helps stop dripping. This helps keep countertops clean, especially when trying to move the unit after use.
Safety Features: Three-way ventilation system helps keep the juicer cool. 2 step safety design and a longer and curved chute to keep users from accidents.
Easy Clean Up: The B6000 comes with two different brushes and Kuvings own screen cleaning tool, which is unique for this type of juicer. Clean up is rather straight forward and disassembling and reassembling the unit is a breeze.
Warranty: This juicer comes with a robust 10 year warranty from Kuvings, which also includes the motor.

What Do Owners Like About The Kuvings B6000?

Although this unit is new to the market there have been some very positive early reviews from customers. Some of the aspects of this juicer that stand out for users include;
Feed Chute: This seems to be a popular reason that a lot of people go for this model and it delivers for them. Being able to drop in a whole apple, cucumber or carrot with out having to slice it up first is a great time saver, especially for those who juice often. To have this feature on a vertical masticating juicer is a huge plus for owners.
Performance: Owners love the quality of the juice that comes out of this machine. It handles a wide range of produce and tends to extract the most amount of juice leaving a very dry pulp. Leafy greens performance is also excellent, producing a high juice yield.
Noise: Some users were surprised by just how quiet this unit is. Masticating juicers are typically quieter than centrifugal juicers because they operate at slower speeds, but some users who already had experience with other masticating juicers were amazed by just how little noise this juicer makes.
Clean Up: Kuvings also gets high marks for how easy the B6000 is to clean. With the included brushes and the design of the parts, including the auger, cleaning this juicer seems to be no problem for users.

What Could Be Better:

Again, since this is a new model and feedback is limited, there have not really been a lot if any negative comments from users. But there is probably one that will keep some people from taking the plunge on the B6000;
Price: This unit is probably the most expensive unit on our list. Even though early returns from owners seem to indicate that you get what you pay for, it will set you back a little bit when compared to some of the other juicers we have reviewed.

Who Should Buy This Juicer?

If you are looking for the space saving features of a masticating vertical juicer but would also like the extra wide feed chute seen in some of the better centrifugal juicers, then the Kuvings B6000 is a desirable choice. The best of both worlds in this regard.
If you want to juice early in the morning or late at night and want a juicer that will not wake up the entire house, then this model is definitely a top option. With an even slower yet powerful motor, this juicer was designed to be one of the quietest juicers on the market.

Who Should Not Buy This Juicer?

If you are on a budget or you just don’t want to spend that much on a juicer, then this is not the model for you. It is one of the more expensive models and for those looking to spend less on a vertical style juicer the Omega VRT350 or Kuvings NS-940 would be a slightly more cost effective alternative.

Bottom Line:

Even though the Kuvings B6000 is pretty new to the juicing market, its early returns have been extremely positive. We are really excited to see the improvements that they have made to make a vertical masticating juicer more user friendly. Owners so far seem to think that Kuvings has really delivered a winner. We are looking forward to seeing more customer reviews of this model as they come in and we will update our review as this happens.

Videos:

We have found a couple of videos that better demonstrate both the B6000 features and the juicing experience of using this juicer.

It comes with the quality features you would expect from a Breville juicer, like a 3” feed chute that is centered over the cutting disc, a powerful motor that makes quick work of fruits and vegetables with a high juice yeild, large, pulp and juice containers and easy clean up. But this machine also delivers a bit more.
The BJE820XL comes with a 5-speed 1200W motor, Breville’s most powerful offering. It also comes with a second cutting disc for softer fruits designed to puree and optimize juice yield from this type of produce. This model is built to perform and deliver for beginning and experienced juicers alike.

1200W Variable 5-Speed Motor: This beast can operate between 6500RPM and 13000RPM depending on the type of fruits and vegetables being juiced. It gets the most juice possible, quickly.
The Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juicer with berries

Puree Secondary Cutting Disc: Get the most out of the softest of fruits that can often give some other juicers problems.

Large Juice and Pulp Containers: 1.2 liter capacity containers make juicing for more than one person possible without having to stop. The juice container comes with a lip that separates foam from the juice when pouring.

Easy Clean Up: Breville designs their juicers to not only juice quickly but to clean up quickly as well. Comes with a custom cleaning brush for the mesh filter. Other than these two parts, everything else is dishwasher safe.

What Do Owners Think About Their BJE820XL?

The Good:

Fewer people have purchased this high end model when compared to the more economical choices in the Breville line, but those who have bought it have been extremely satisfied with their decision. It consistently receives high ratings and glowing reviews from owners.

Performance: The variable speed workhorse of a motor produces a large amount of juice in a short amount of time. Owners rave about how fast, simple and easy juicing is with this machine. Makes quick work of harder vegetables and fruits like carrots, apples, and beets.

Juice Yield: Users are highly satisfied with not only how fast the juice is produced, but with the quality and the amount of juice.

Build: High grade materials mattered to owners and most seem to happy with the quality of entire machine.

Clean Up: An important factor for a lot of buyers, users for the most part like how hassle-free clean up is with this unit. Disassembling, washing and reassembling the juicer is a rather straightforward task.

What Could Be Better:

Nothing is perfect for everyone, some of the aspects of this juicer that some owners were not happy with include:

Noise: Moving at such high RPM’s will cause any centrifugal juicer to produce a fair amount of noise, especially when compared to masticating juicers.

Leafy Green Performance: While it does produce juice from the likes of cabbage, kale and other leafy greens, some users were not happy with overall yield from this type of produce.

Wet Pulp: Some fruits, such as grapes left wetter than desired pulp, meaning not all of the juice was extracted from fruit.

Summary:

This top of the line model from Breville is the company’s most powerful juicing machine. If you want a fast machine and are looking to primarily juice harder produce this unit is a winner. While leafy greens are not the BJE820XL’s strong point, it still is able to juice just about everything thrown its way. This machine is highly rated by owners, usually between the mid to high 4’s out of 5 stars across multiple online retailers, with an average recommendation rate from owners between 80% to 88%.

The powerful motor operates at 14000RPM and makes quick work of a wide variety of hard and soft fruits and vegetables.  The extra wide feed chute means larger produce can be added without the need to cut them up into smaller pieces.  Add that to the fast clean up time, and daily juicing does not seem like a daily chore but rather a worthwhile and speedy endeavor to improve your health.

What Do Owners Say About The Breville BJE200XL?

The Good:

Across the board, owners consistently rate this juicer among the best.  Below are what a majority of owners rave about;
bje200xlPerformance:  Despite being smaller in size than the other Breville models, this unit is quick and fast.  It handles all types of produce with ease, such as carrots, apples, celery and leafy greens.
Value:  This is where this unit seems to resonate with buyers.  It is priced as an entry level juicer, usually around the $99 price range, but despite being relatively inexpensive, as far as juicers are concerned, it is not “cheap”.  This is a quality unit that is fast and simple to use and produces a nice amount of juice.  Owners rave about how the BJE200XL has met and/or exceeded their expectations based on the price they ended up paying.
Clean Up:  This is always an important aspect for buyers, and owners really appreciate how simple this model is to clean.  Disassembling the unit, cleaning and reassembling just takes a few minutes.  The reviews of the cleaning process are very favorable.

What Could Be Better:

No one machine is perfect for everyone, and some owners have expressed their disappointment in the following areas;
Wet Pulp:  Fast spinning centrifugal juicers usually do not produce as dry of a pulp as masticating juicers.  Wet pulp means that not all of the liquid has been extracted and juiced fully and still remains in the extracted pulp.
Leafy Green Performance:  Some owners were not happy with how this juicer handled leafy green vegetables.  They found larger pieces in the pulp collection bin that did not seem to get juiced and they wished they could have gotten more juice out of their cabbage, kale and lettuce.
Splashing:  Some owners found that when they dropped in certain soft fruits into their fast spinning machine that there would be an occasional splashing of juice out of the top of the food chute.

Summary:

If you are curious about juicing, want to make a healthier change to your diet but are on a budget, or just want to try juicing without a bigger than necessary investment, then the Breville BJE200XL Juice Fountain Compact might be what you are looking for.  It is a best seller that has proven to be a favorite amongst owners.
This unit provides a lot of bang for the buck, is simple to use and clean and it is a great first step on your journey to a healthier diet.

What Do Owners Think About the Kuvings NS-940 Silent Juicer?

The Good:

kuvings940This model is not as popular as some of the other brand name juicers, but it has gotten a very nice reception from those who have purchased it.  This model consistently receiving ratings in the low to mid 4’s out of 5 stars.  Some aspects of this machine that owners love include;
Performance:  Being a slow masticating juicer, the total amount of juice that is extracted from fruits and vegetables is high.  Operating at just 80RPM, the unit is also very quiet.  Owners love that they can juice late at night or in the early morning without worrying about waking others who might be sleeping.
Clean Up:  For the most part, this model gets high marks for fast clean up which is always an important factor for those buying a juicer.
Juice Yield:  Customers who bought a 940 are very happy with the amount of juice this unit extracts from produce.  Pulp that is extracted is on the dry side, meaning most of the liquid has been extracted to the juice container.
Design:  This has nothing to do with producing juice, but if you are going to buy a small appliance that is visible on your counter top, it might as well look good.  This unit gets high marks from owners on this aspect.

What Could Be Better:

Some of the not so favorable aspects on this juicer voiced in some customer reviews include;
Clogging:  Some users found that this unit will clog on them if pieces are not cut up properly before dropping them in the food chute.  Stringy vegetables can get caught up on the auger.  This can be remedied by making pieces smaller.
Time:  Being a “slow” masticating juicer, the entire process is more deliberate than that of a centrifugal juicer.  Prep time is also longer due to the fact that fruits and vegetables usually need to be cut up into smaller, more manageable chunks before juicing.
Wet pulp:  Some owners were not thrilled with the consistency of the pulp that was ejected and were hoping that it would be a little dryer and more in line with other masticating type juicers.

Summary:

The reviews for the Kuvings NS-940 for the most part are very good.  Owners seem happy with the overall build and performance of the unit.  There are some minor issues that may make the entire process take more time consuming when compared to other machines.  It tends to receive ratings in the low to mid 4’s out of 5 stars with a recommendation rate of around 75%-80% from owners.

Product Features

Slow Masticating Juicer – Protects against nutrient loss and over heating by moving at slower speeds.  Dual stage design to crush and press the juice out of fruits and vegetables for maximum extraction.

Upright Design – Vertical footprint that takes up as little counter space as possible.
Reversible Gear – Should anything become stuck in the auger simply reverse the direction of the motor to dislodge.
Two 64ounce Containers – One catches the pulp upon extraction and the other catches the juice.  Large enough to produce a lot at one sitting.

What Do Owners Think About Their Omega VRT350

What Could Be Better:

While most owners are very happy with their purchase, there were a few complaints that have been voiced with this unit.  Some issues brought up in customer reviews include;
Speed:  This is a common complaint for masticating juicers.  They are more methodical in how they produce juice.  Moving at only 80RPM, slowly crushing and pressing the juice out of what is being put into the machine is a trade off for the quality of juice that is produced.  Compared to centrifugal juicers, masticating juicers are indeed slower.

Clean Up –  Most users are very happy with the amount of time needed to clean the machine after using.    One  good habit to get into is to clean the machine right after you have completed all of your juicing while the pulp and juice is still moist.  This can help prevent clogging and any chance of stains setting in.
Design and Counter Top Footprint – Users tend to really like the stainless steel materials used in this vertical juicer as well as the relatively small amount of space it takes up when compared to other juicers.
Value –  Owners, in general, are extremely pleased with the construction, performance, and the juice that is produced when using this product. Who Should Buy This Juicer?

If you are looking for a well built and well designed machine, something that performs as good as it looks, then the BJE510XL is for you. Who Should Not Buy This Juicer?

If you anticipate juicing early in the morning or late at night and are concerned about waking people who are sleeping, then a centrifugal juicer is not the best choice as the high RPM’s it generates can be quite noisy. If you wish to make a lot of juice at once and store it for 1 to 3 days in the refrigerator, then a masticating juicer would be recommended. Also if you plan on juicing primarily leafy green vegetables such as kale, spinach and wheatgrass, then an high quality masticating juicer, such as the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center would better serve your needs in the long run.

Summary

Why is this so high up on our list?  It is because the BJE510XL provides the best combination of features, power and quality to give users a great juicing experience.  Despite some of the minor complaints, this machine is an overwhelming favorite amongst owners.  Across various online retailers it constantly receives scores between the mid to high 4’s out of 5 stars.  Buyers of this particular juicer love it and highly recommend it.  Check out the video below for a demonstration of what this marvelous juicer can do.

Omega NC800 HDS Masticating Juicer Review

Omega NC800 HDS 5th Generation Nutrition Center Juicer, Silver

The Omega NC800 HDS is the latest generation masticating juicer in the company’s very distinguished line of juicing machines. With some added improvements on their older models, the NC800 has taken juicing to a whole other level. This model features a wider feed chute, and an adjustable end cap that lets you fine tune the juicer based on the foods that are being passed through the machine. It also has a slightly more modern design. One thing that has not changed, however, is how well the unit performs while juicing a wide variety of produce.
We have waited to do a review of this model until there were more customer reviews. And while the NC800 is still relatively new to the market, the ratings from customers has been impressive enough to warrant us adding it to our list of top 10 juicers. Owners, for the most part, are extremely satisfied with the upgrades that Omega has made to their line of slow juicers and this unit has been receiving very high recommendation rates so far.

Product Features

Wider Feed Chute: This has been one of the sore spots of masticating juicers, especially when compared to the new Breville centrifugal juicers with their larger feed chutes. The NC800 HDS now incorporates a larger oval shaped chute so that larger chunks can be added to the machine. This feature primarily is designed to save on prep time. The bigger the feed chute, the less time is needed to cut up foods into tiny pieces to fit into the juicer. For those that do a lot of juicing, especially items such as cucumbers or carrots, this is a huge time saver.
Adjustable Dial: Another new feature on this model is the end cap is now adjustable. What this is designed to do is keep the pulp in the machine for longer enabling more juice to be squeezed out. The dial ranges from 0 to 5. You would use 5 for harder vegetables like carrots, and you could set it to 1 or 2 for softer vegetables like apples and pears.
Newer Design: As with most model upgrades, there is some overhaul to the overall look to this model. It is nothing too drastic but it does stand apart from older versions. It is available in 3 colors as of right now. These include silver and red and a shiny chrome plated version. The chrome version gets its own model number, the NC900, but the only difference between the two models is the color.
15 Year WarrantyOmega juicers are some of the best built juicing machines available, and the company stands by their products with a whopping 15 year warranty.
Nutrition Center: This model Omega juicer has “Nutrition Center” in its name not only because it can juice, but also because it is capable of doing a lot more such as making butters, nut butter, pasta extruder and grinder to name a few. This unit comes with six different nozzles to handle all types of chores. It is an extremely versatile machine.
Same Quality: This model Omega juicer has not only the improvements listed above, but it also includes all of the same qualities of their previous models that has made them so popular. The NC800 has extremely high juice yield, is easy to operate and clean, and it produces a great tasting and healthy juice.

What Do Owners Like About Their Omega NC800?

So far, this juicer has garnered some great reviews from owners. Some of the aspects of this juicer that get the most praise include:
nc800Improved Feed Chute: Especially from users who have experience using some of Omega’s older juicers, the new larger feed chute has been a huge hit. Not only does it save on prep time, a lot of users find that the auger grabs onto the food easier and they don’t have to use the pusher to feed the produce down into the machine as much. Big kudos from customers on this feature.
End Cap Dial: This addition seems to work well for most users. Owners like to have a little more control over the pulp, especially when juicing both hard and soft fruits and veggies together. Pulp that exits the end cap tends to be very dry which means maximum juice extraction.
Juice Yield:  One of the most important aspects of a quality juicer is how much juice it is able to extract, and the juice yield of the NC800 is something that gets a high amount of praise from owners.  The pulp that is left over is extremely dry, meaning most of the juice ends up in your glass.
Overall Performance: Customer reviews have been rather impressive when it comes to how well this model handles a wide variety of different foods. Leafy greens and wheatgrass performance is superb and users really appreciate how well this model handles just about anything that they can throw at it.
Ease of Use: Owners also love how easy this masticating juicer is to use. From unboxing and assembling, to operating, to clean up. This juicer is just simple and straightforward to use. Clean up is a breeze for most owners and just take a couple of minutes.
Value: Even at a higher price point, a lot of owners agree that you get what you pay for. With a 15 year warranty and a reputation for dependable juicing machines, a lot of customers feel that it is a safe investment to make in their health.

What Could Be Better?

While having mostly positive reviews, there are a some aspects of the NC800 that a few users were not happy with. These include:
Juicing Apples: This seems to be the one fruit that this unit has some problems with. Some owners were disappointed with how apples went through the machine and gummed up the inside a bit. The output was a little closer to applesauce than apple juice. Playing with the new adjustable end cap however, seemed to alleviate this issue for some users.
Pulp in Juice: Some users were not happy with finding pulp in their juice. Some of this might be able to fixed by playing with then end cap dial settings. For the most part however, masticating juicers tend to produce pulpier juice than that of centrifugal juicers. Some users who just don’t want pulp in their juice may end up having to use a strainer as an extra last step.

Alternative Juicers

This is the 5th generation Omega line of horizontal masticating juicers, which is naturally going to be more expensive than older models. For those who don’t mind forgoing some of the new improvements to save a little money on a quality juicer can still get the Omega J8006 (Chrome) or the Omega J8004 (White).

Bottom Line

Omega set out to take their already high quality juicers and make them even better. And the early returns from customers is that they did just that. With a larger feed chute and adjustable end dial, they made the NC800 HDS easier to use while increasing overall juice yield. The unit is easy to use, easy to clean and owners really appreciate everything that this model is able to deliver. Customer scores on the model are currently in the mid to high 4’s out of 5 stars.

Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Juicer Review

This Omega juicer has been one of the best rated masticating juicers for years and it is ideal for those who wish to extract the most from leafy greens, such as kale, spinach and wheatgrass. The Omega 8006 Nutrition Center’s power, versatility and effectiveness makes this the perfect machine to handle just about all of your juicing needs.
Juicing at a slower speed with an 80RPM motor helps protect against flavor, color and nutrient loss that can be seen in higher RPM centrifugal juicers.  Another benefit of slow juicing is a quieter machine with minimal foam production.
This dual stage slow juicer first crushes the fruit or vegetable being worked on, and before the pulp is extracted, it is then pressed further to ensure maximum juice yield and helping you get the most out of the produce that you have purchased.
It not only does juicing, but the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center is also capable of  grinding coffee, making pasta, making butters, mincing garlic and more with available attachments.

Pros & Cons of the Omega J8006

Pros:
  • Powerful juicing machine. Even though it only works at 80RPM, it gets the most juice out of everything thrown its way.
  • Quiet juicer, especially compared to its high RPM centrifugal counterparts. Great for late night or early morning operation even when others are sleeping.
  • Low RPM’s mean less air is introduced into the juice protecting the quality of the nutrients. Less oxidation enables juice to be stored cold for up to 3 days.  One of the distinct advantages of a masticating juicer.
  • A whopping 15 year warranty. Omega juicers are built to last and the makers stand by their product.
  • Does more than just juice, included attachments make this an extremely versatile machine.
  • The best masticating juicer in its class with impressive customer scores.
Cons:
  • Small feed chute means fruits and vegetables must be cut up first into smaller pieces. This can add to prep time.
  • A little slower and more methodical style of juicing than using a centrifugal juicer.

Who Should Buy This Omega Juicer?

If you plan to juice a lot of leafy greens (kale, spinach, wheatgrass) and want to get the highest juice yield possible, then this is the unit for you.
If you want a quieter juicer (compared to centrifugal juicers) and don’t want to wake others while you prepare your juice, then the J8006 is a worthy candidate for you.
If you would like to make large amounts of juice at one sitting so that you can store it in the fridge for 1 to 3 days without it going bad, then this is the juicer you want.
If you want a well built, well designed, high performing machine with a 15 year warranty that produces a superior quality juice, then this model Omega juicer is definitely the one to buy.

Who Should Not Buy This Juicer?

If you do not have a lot of time to juice and you are looking for the fastest juicing experience, then this is probably not the best unit for your needs.  Centrifugal juicers typically make quicker work of fruits and vegetables.  The newer models also have bigger feed chutes which means less prep time is needed to cut up produce into smaller bits. Something like the Breville BJE510XL would probably be a better choice.
If you do not have a lot of counter space and want a juicer with a small footprint, this is probably not the best unit for you.  The J8006 has a wider stance than most of the other juicers on our list.  A vertical style masticating juicer such as the Omega VRT350 or the Kuvings NS-940 Silent Juicer

Bottom Line:

The Omega J8006 Nutrition Center juicer is not just perhaps the best masticating juicer, but one of the top overall juicers on the market today according to users.  Owners love it, and rate it very highly.  It is especially recommended for those who are looking to juice leafy vegetables for maximum juice extraction.  If you are in the market for a new juicer, you cannot go wrong with this slow juicer from Omega.
